Agreement to Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Customer," "you," or "your") and Gretna Plating & Polishing ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") regarding your use of our metal finishing services and website.

By engaging our services, submitting items for processing, or using our website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

Services Provided

Metal Finishing Services

We provide professional metal finishing services including but not limited to:

  • Chrome plating (decorative and hard chrome)
  • Nickel plating (bright, satin, and electroless)
  • Metal polishing and buffing
  • Surface preparation and cleaning
  • Antique restoration services
  • Industrial surface treatments

Service Limitations

  • Services are provided based on our professional assessment of feasibility
  • We reserve the right to refuse service for items deemed unsafe or unsuitable
  • Certain materials or conditions may require specialized handling or additional costs
  • Timeline estimates are approximate and subject to workload and complexity

Estimates and Pricing

Written Estimates

  • All estimates are provided in writing and are valid for 30 days
  • Estimates are based on initial assessment and may change if additional work is discovered
  • Rush orders may incur additional charges as specified in the estimate
  • Estimates do not include applicable taxes unless specifically noted

Payment Terms

  • Payment is due upon completion of services unless other arrangements are made
  • We accept cash, check, and major credit cards
  • Commercial accounts may be eligible for net 30-day terms with approved credit
  • A service charge may be applied to returned checks

Additional Costs

If additional work is required beyond the original estimate, we will contact you for approval before proceeding. Additional costs may include:

  • Extensive repair or preparation work
  • Special handling for delicate or valuable items
  • Rush processing fees
  • Specialized materials or processes

Customer Responsibilities

Item Preparation

  • Remove all non-metal components that cannot be processed (rubber, plastic, etc.)
  • Clean items of excessive dirt, grease, or debris
  • Provide accurate information about item history and previous treatments
  • Identify any special requirements or concerns

Item Pickup

  • Items must be picked up within 30 days of completion notification
  • Storage fees may apply for items not collected within the specified timeframe
  • Proper identification is required for item pickup
  • Inspection and approval should be completed at time of pickup

Accurate Information

  • Provide complete and accurate contact information
  • Notify us immediately of any changes to contact details
  • Inform us of any special handling requirements or concerns
  • Disclose any known defects or previous repair attempts

Liability and Risk

Limitation of Liability

Our liability for any claim related to our services is limited to the amount paid for the specific service in question. We are not liable for:

  • Consequential, incidental, or indirect damages
  • Loss of use, profits, or business opportunities
  • Damage to items with pre-existing defects or stress fractures
  • Normal wear and tear of finished surfaces over time
  • Damage caused by improper handling after completion

Risk Acknowledgment

Customer acknowledges that:

  • Metal finishing processes involve inherent risks
  • Some items may not be suitable for certain processes
  • Pre-existing damage may become apparent during processing
  • Results may vary based on item condition and material composition

Insurance and Claims

  • We maintain appropriate business insurance coverage
  • Claims must be reported within 48 hours of item pickup
  • Documentation and photos may be required for claim processing
  • Resolution will be attempted through direct negotiation first

Quality and Workmanship

Quality Standards

  • All work is performed to industry standards and best practices
  • We use professional-grade materials and equipment
  • Quality control inspections are performed on all completed work
  • Work is performed by trained and experienced technicians

Workmanship Warranty

  • We warrant our workmanship for 90 days from completion
  • Warranty covers defects in our application process only
  • Warranty does not cover normal wear, abuse, or environmental damage
  • Warranty repairs will be performed at no charge during the warranty period

Customer Satisfaction

  • We strive for complete customer satisfaction on every project
  • Concerns should be reported immediately upon pickup
  • We will work with customers to resolve any legitimate quality issues
  • Final approval is assumed if no concerns are raised within 48 hours

Intellectual Property

Website Content

  • All website content, including text, images, and design, is our property
  • Content may not be reproduced without written permission
  • Trademarks and service marks are protected intellectual property
  • User-generated content may be used for promotional purposes

Process Documentation

  • We may photograph items before, during, and after processing
  • Photos may be used for quality control and training purposes
  • Customer consent is assumed unless specifically declined
  • Proprietary processes and techniques remain our intellectual property

Environmental and Safety Compliance

Environmental Responsibility

  • All processes comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations
  • Waste materials are disposed of through approved methods
  • We maintain required permits and certifications
  • Environmental impact is minimized through best practices

Safety Protocols

  • Workplace safety standards are maintained per OSHA requirements
  • Personal protective equipment is used by all staff
  • Safety training is provided regularly to all employees
  • Emergency procedures are established and practiced

Dispute Resolution

Informal Resolution

  • We encourage direct communication to resolve any concerns
  • Most issues can be resolved through good-faith discussion
  • Management is available to address escalated concerns
  • Written documentation may be requested for complex issues

Formal Dispute Process

  • Formal disputes must be submitted in writing within 30 days
  • We will respond to written complaints within 10 business days
  • Mediation may be pursued for unresolved disputes
  • Louisiana state law governs all agreements and disputes

Legal Jurisdiction

  • These Terms are governed by Louisiana state law
  • Disputes will be resolved in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana courts
  • Both parties consent to jurisdiction in Louisiana
  • Prevailing party may be entitled to reasonable attorney fees

Modifications and Updates

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on our website with a new "Last Updated" date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

For significant changes that may affect existing customers, we will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice through email or other communication methods.
